he municipality consists of six hamlets, spaced out from each other: Castello, Mura, Palude, Monteacuto, Raffa and S.Quirico.
Each individual hamlet is characterized by the presence of a more or less ancient church or chapel, each dedicated to the patron saint of the hamlet itself, confirming the country’s long history. Its origins, in fact, can be traced as far back as Roman times.
The economy of Puegnago d/G. is mainly based on agricultural activity. There are many farms that have been able to take advantage of the natural vocation of this land, becoming reference points for the production of oil (especially that obtained from Casaliva quality olive trees) and wine (the characteristic Groppello wine stands out above all).
What to see:
The ruins of Puegnago Castle: Puegnago del Garda Castle is located on a promontory and was probably in the past in contact with the other castles of Valtenesi. It is said that its high tower in medieval times, served precisely to control possible attacks by giving the possibility to warn in time even the allies of neighboring fortresses, as a kind of spy.
The beautiful Villa Avanzi, part of the period residences, dates back to the 14th century and covers a total area of 2,000 square meters, nestled among Valtenesi olive trees and verdant meadows overlooking Lake Garda.
Walk to Lake Lucone and Laghetti di Sovenigo
