Toscolano and Maderno are two neighboring towns, with many things in common, which, in order to offer the best of themselves to their guests have decided to merge into a single municipality. The town is part of the Alto Garda Bresciano regional park<\/a> and the territory is divided into many hamlets: <\/b>Gaino, Cecina, Vigole, Sanico, Bornico, Roina, Maclino, Pulciano, Folino, Cabiana, and Stina.<\/p>\n

In Toscolano Maderno, you can still enjoy the old, healthy cuisine in one of the many typical restaurants that offer recipes based on lake fish such as trout, bleak (aole), sardines, eels, pike, and other salmonids.<\/p>\n

Romantic and evocative is the walk along the lake that starts from Via Roma at the entrance to the Gulf of Maderno and ends at the Lido degli Ulivi in Toscolano. This beautiful walk along the Zanardelli lakefront, allows you to savor the charm of the lake while relaxing and indulging in some extra pampering.<\/p>\n

Toscolano Maderno boasts a beautiful, long sandy beach that has nothing to envy the beaches of the sea. It is called Lido Azzurro<\/b> and is the most popular and well-equipped beach in the area. It is easy to spot because it is located right on the lakefront.<\/p>\n

The other beaches, however, are free pebble beaches:<\/p>\n

Riva Grande Beach:<\/b> made of gravel and white pebbles, it offers a view of the Toscolano marina and has free parking. The beach is free, and nearby is the dog-friendly Bau<\/b> Beach.<\/p>\n

Olive Tree Beach:<\/b> completely pebbled. Lido degli Ulivi offers the possibility of renting sunbeds and umbrellas.<\/p>\n

In fact, in the surroundings of Toscolano Maderno there are places and attractions that can be reached even with a simple boat trip: the Isola del Garda, Riva, Torri, Malcesine, Gardone with its Vittoriale, Sal\u00f2 and its famous Saturday morning market, and the Valtenesi valley where you can buy Garda Dop olive oil and Garda wines. Boats and ferries offer numerous destinations on the Lombard, Veneto, and Trentino coasts.<\/p>\n

In addition, from Toscolano Maderno, Navigazione del Garda provides for the transport of cars, buses, and motorcycles, two Ferries that shuttle between Toscolano Maderno and Torri del Benaco, this service allows to avoid the coastal roads that in the high season are very crowded.<\/p>\n

THE PAPER MILL VALLEY<\/b>: Home to a very ancient papermaking production that has its roots as far back as the 1300s and was of great importance between the 1400s and 1700s. The Valley opens up revealing its gorges and richly varied vegetation where every now and then one can recognize among the thick greenery, a few ruins bearing witness to the past.<\/p>\n

The walk to discover the area, begins at the old bridge in Toscolano Maderno, where you take a left onto the via Valle delle Cartiere. One always walks keeping to the left along a road that dates back to the mid-1800s and then reaches the first evocative location: Garda. From here you continue through a gorge carved out of the river. You then pass a tunnel and on the right you will find the renowned Paper Museum. From here continue to the village Sant’Antonio where there is a beautiful gorge with the river underneath and climb up to Camerate where there is the old mill.<\/p>\n

From Toscolano Maderno one can take beautiful hiking walks to the hinterland of the area. In addition to the Paper Mill Valley, one can hike to the inland mountain pastures and Mount Pizzocolo to enjoy the pleasure of a nature walk.<\/p>\n

Mount Pizzocolo<\/b>, which towers above Toscolano Maderno, a locality on the western shore of Lake Garda, is 1582 meters high, reaching a relatively advanced position with respect to the Lake Garda hinterland. It is a privileged vantage point for the entire Lake Garda offering, from its summit, a three hundred and sixty-degree view of Lake Garda, the Alps, Mount Rosa, and the Apennines. Near its summit is a bivouac carved out of a World War I military structure and a small chapel.<\/p>\n

The Bassa Via del Garda<\/b> trail, dedicated to Roberto Montagnoli, is a trail that can be done in any season and is suitable for everyone. In the fall months you will smell the scent of cyclamen while in the summer you will smell jasmine. Beautiful nature envelops anyone walking along the trail, crossing rolling hills and rocky overhangs, walls of old lemon houses and delightful villages to visit.<\/p>\n

A short walk to do as a family is the one between Pulcino and Gaino<\/b>. It starts at the Toscolano bridge and through streets parallel to the Pulciano-Gaino state road to Pulciano, to stop at the Castellari ice cream shop, a historic artisanal ice cream shop in the village, with a terrace overlooking the lake. From here then you can reach the church of Gaino, an excellent paronimic point.<\/p>\n

The traditional market<\/b> takes place on Thursday mornings in the Old Town; it is very beautiful and offers stalls of all kinds: from clothes and shoes to food and delicacies featuring local specialties.<\/p>\n

We offer a rental service or organized tours with e-bikes, discovering Lake Garda by bicycle through routes suitable for everyone, mainly on bike paths, Morenic trails and single tracks of the Gardesano hinterland, away from the chaotic roads that accompany us in our daily lives.<\/p>\n
